Was this made before, during, or after "UFO"?

I've noticed a lot of similarities between this movie and the Gerry Anderson-produced TV series "UFO".

Many of the props appear the same, such as the microphones used in the control rooms. Also many of the computer displays and sets appear to be slightly redressed versions of those seen in the TV show.

Several cues in the music are the same between both productions.

Even some of the actor extras have been recycled, such as the control technician. He's the same guy who in the UFO series would call out "red alert! red alert!"
