Remake

Yes I know, this film is a timeless classic, hell, its a time capsule of swinging london of 1969

but i'd love to see a remake...i'd have David Tennant and Tina Fey in it. The Script is mostly perfect and can be kept almost entirely as is...just be neat to see tourists seeing europe today and their reactions.

And Ian McShane could play Charlie, still shuttling the tourists around, forty years on...did he ever follow Sam to Minnesota? I wonder.

Indeed. I'd much rather see a fresh take on a new comedy than a remake that attempts to capture the magic of the past. This film is uniquely 1969, and it wouldn't work to transport it to an era with GPS and cell phones. Films such as "Little Miss Sunshine" prove that smart comedies for grown-ups are still possible when the filmmakers actually care – and try.

If it's Tuesday, This Still Must Be Belgium (1987)

I could have sworn there was a tv remake in the 90s. I thought it had the same title, but I don't see it listed. Can't remember who was in it. Wait, it was either Jackee Harry or Anna Marie Horsford. it was not done as well.
