It says the Japanese version is longer, I thought the English spoken version was the full version of the film.
shareEnglish version 1 hour 45 minutes, Japanese 1 hour 29 minutes. I liked the English version better as that's the language the movie was made in and it covered everything. I didn't notice any major omissions on the Japanese version, must have been tighter editing.
shareThey might have meant that little clips were cut here and there to fix the time slot for viewing. Even now days if you watch a hr long episode of a regular program you will find that about 10-15 minutes of that time is given over to ads. I don't recall how many such breaks there were back in the 70's (nor their length) but even back then stations were cutting here and there to fit programming into their schedules.
