is this movie available anywhere...

...on vhs or dvd? Please let me know.

reply

Maybe if we wrote to Media Blasters, who have released a number of Toho titles to DVD on their Tokyo Shock label.

Unfortunately, there are legal issues that are preventing this from being released on DVD, even in Japan. It's really a shame...

The film is scheduled for a DVD release in Japan next month. The single disc release will be the Japanese dub, with no English subtitles. There will also be a collector's edition featuring three versions of the film: the English language original, the Japanese dub and a shortened Japanese version issued in the 1970s. I don't know if a US release is scheduled. It could be that the legal problems have only been resolved in Japan.

I do know it exists. my username/email obviously came from this most awesome movie. The place i saw it screened at, was on a DVD and it was not a bootleg. They did however mention it was rare. Maybe there was only a few rints made? It does need another run though.

Everything was good about this movie.

This film is now available for rental from NetFlix. I just placed my order last night, so I haven't received it, yet. I'm eager to see if the DVD will contain any entertaining extras. Steve V.
