Kill Bill references this movie

I've found two references just in the first hour or so.

During the first "fight" sequence about an hour in, we see a character bounce on a sword like a trampoline. We see Gordon Liu do just that (with a sword I might add) in KB1.

Also (this reference is even earlier in Hsia Nu and is even stronger), when the female character hides by clinging to the ceiling, the mise en scene and cinematography are identical to the moment in KB1 when the Bride evades GoGo Yubari by hanging from the ceiling. Aside from the different actors, its identical.

Clearly, Tarantino has seen this movie as well. If I find any thing else throughout the rest of the movie I'll post.

This is a truly great film...essential viewing for any fan of Asian cinema.

My guess is that a lot of movies reference this movie. I've seen that 'hides by clining to the ceiling' in numerous films. Same with bouncing off a sword stuck in a tree/wall/man.
Tarantino will pull ideas from good films and bad with equal aplomb so hard to know for sure.

yeah you're right, not surprised though as KB is basically an homage to old Japanese and Chinese movies

so many movies, so little time
