'Get the hell outa here!'

I speak as I find, and some of the lines spoken by Martha had me dissolved in laughter!
"I'll have the veal cutlet"
"Get the hell OUTA here!"
"Why-your're the hottest bitch I've ever seen!"

Shirley Stoller was superb!

reply

LOL!!!! So true.

Yes, Shirley Stoller is great in this movie. I have it on VHS and re-watch it from time to time. A friend recently gave me the (2006) re-make LONELY HEARTS.
which in (my humble opinion) is nowhere near as good as the original.
HONEYMOON KILLERS is really quite chilling with it's understated-left to the imagination scenes. I remember when I first saw it on the big screen, it freaked me out. A truly evil pair. From all the accounts I've read about Fernandez and Beck, I believe they had quite a bit of trouble squeezing the huge Beck into the electric chair!

Lol'd at her taking his toupee off in the final embrace...

I can visualize Stoler putting that veal between her legs and strutting home ....a'la Pink Flamingo's !!!
Stoler was a gem in that movie, and YES, she totally resembles Simone Signoret!

Simone Signoret?? i thought she was a dead ringer for Mindy Cohn...

If you viewed the bonus material and interview on Criterion with Leonard Kastle you would know this. If you view older pics of Simone and Shirley you will see very similar facial features...I have no reason to make this up, nor am I the first one to agree with this....Kastle, nor I, ever made any references to body types - but her facial features.....

Now, from the looks and tone of your post, I would say that you and a small plastic soap dish share some of the same traits.

i did watch the bonus material.

not sure how you determined the looks and tone of my post, it's just truth!

@noveltylibrary ----- I had posted quite a few replies to posts, here and some other forums - and, I thought you told me to 'get the hell outa here' but afterwards I realized that it was the subject heading, and NOT something you had personally posted towards me - Please accept my apology for this - I just thought you were being nasty to me!
To be honest, before seeing the bonus material on Criterion and having it pointed out, I would have never thought Simone and Shirley resembled each other in the least- but after googling many pics of both of them, I do think earlier pics of them do indeed resemble each other facially in many respects-
Of course, you have every right to your opinion, and, I respect your thoughts and opinions totally - once again, I merely thought you told me to 'get the hell outa here' but you didn't!!!!
See? This is what happens when I am posting on several forums for different topics all at once.
Apology accepted?

My best-

np babz...
i like ss a lot, seen a few of her films (favorite being les diabolique) and i guess for me her beauty just negated any resemblance, but i guess i can see where people might draw some similarities.

Great movie - Les Diabolique - recently added that to my Criterion Collection!
