Cult classic

Well, at least according to the blurb on the back of the DVD it is and it features in the redoubtable Cult Movies series by Danny Peary.
But I'd love to hear from cultists of this film as I've only seen it twice! Once, when it featured on Moviedrome, a cult film show hosted by Alex Cox, in the late 80 and 90s. Then again when I watched it on TV.
Such a shame that the writer/director would never make another feature.
But I'd be interested to hear what makes this a cult film for the fans of it.
