7/10. Here's why:

A couple of its musical numbers are too long or even unnecessary, but HELLO, DOLLY! is still as fun and funny as a musical directed by (but not starring) Gene Kelly can be. Barbra Streisand's performance is so good that I forgot that she was too young for the part. Walter Matthau doesn’t seem to be trying hard enough (this is more clear in the IT TAKES A WOMAN number) and his singing sucks. The 2 leads’ lack of chesmistry makes their subplot a little uninteresting, and it was already being overshadowed by the subplot with CORNELIUS and the others.
