I wouldn't mind seeing this musical remade but I don't know about Andrea Martin...I was thinking someone like Bette Midler or Stockard Channing.
shareI'd much rather see Kim Zimmer of "Guiding Light" fame in the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi. She's the right age for it, she has the pipes to carry the songs as well. But that's just me!

UPDATE:
I got my wish as far as seeing Kim Zimmer in the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi. She was in a summer stock production of "Hello, Dolly!" last month at the Barn Theater in Augusta, Michigan. She was awesome!
