when they are driving in the streets at the start with the accident etc,is this LA you think due to the palm trees?

Well it's certainly supposed to be, in the movie, that they're coming into LA, when they run into the Hell's Angels CA chapter. It's a fairly empty road, though, and lots of places have palm trees, so who knows, for sure.
