HUGE plothole

Yeah I know it's a biker flick from the 60's BUT even today they use the same old tired schtick about Las Vegas being some sort of huge desert ride away.

When the Angels kicked them out late at night, they should have been in L.A. about 4 hours later on the road.

BUT they always make it look like Vegas is some practically dirt road to get too and you have to take the desert to get somewhere else. We lived in Vegas in the early 60's and although it started out as a two lane black top, it soon turned into a 4 lane and getting back and forth was around 5 hours or so from L.A. but even today when you see these movies they look like it's all dirt roads, desert paths and dirt roads through the hills to get there.

I realize the majority of the country has never driven to Vegas but come on, those guys should have been back in L.A. by sunup and long hidden from the Angels.

Oh well I love the scenes from old Vegas though. When you look at the circus it is now, it's hard to believe they had a couple of hundred feet in front to get to the casino or hotel whereas now it's right there on the sidewalk.

Ya know what would be kind of cool...put today's metal as background music. One of the scenes the music was so bad I half expected the bikers to break out in go go boots.

But put some Metallica on the soundtrack now and see the difference or any Black Metal for that matter.

obtain a temporary safety deserve
neither liberty or safety

You missed a plot element. After the robbery, police set up roadblocks on the highways out of Vegas. The two bikers took off through the desert to avoid the cops, not because it's the only way out of town.

It always pays to read the replies before reading a long post on plotholes.
