What a shame...
This is one of the most interesting interpretations of Hamlet I've ever seen. By the lack of comments it seems not many viewers have had the opportunity to enjoy this version.
Nicol Williamson is brilliant.

Where can I watch it?
shareI agree. I watched this again today and think Nicol Williamson is up there with my very favourite Hamlets. He brings a very fresh and emotional reading of the character, and although the text is heavily cut, we do get a lot more of Hamlet's speeches than usual. His performance especially in the closet scene is outstanding.
shareWilliamson's Hamlet has fascinated me for years. But the BBC version with Derek Jacobi is miles beyond it.
shareIt took me a short while to get used to Williamson's voice. Was that his normal speaking voice?
shareAs well as I can remember, it was. His voice seemed nasal to me. What took me some getting used to was the accent he affected as Hamlet. I'm not familiar enough with English regional dialects to say, but it certainly wasn't posh upper class, as one might expect for one of royal birth.
