things i jotted down when watching The Green Slime

Where's Bruce Willis?

Why is there water on this asteroid?

I am absolutely loving the cheese factor of this movie.

The digging machines are wobbling like plastic toys.

They find an extraterrestrial life-form and Halverson wants to bring it back and study it... Captain Jack says no and smashes it. What a d/ck.

Of course there has to be a love triangle in this one.

I can't help but laugh at a random 60's dance and music scene.

Jack is still a d/ck.

Crab tentacles.

How many times do you need to laser gun that thing?

If I were on that space station, I'd try and get in sick bay every day. The sick bay staff must have been hired by how they fit into their outfits. Perfect butt shots throughout movie. Two thumbs up for that.

When the alien enters the infirmary I lost it. Hilarious stuff.

JACK THROWS HIS HELMET AT THE ALIEN!

Aliens can teleport just as walkers do on TWD.

Rolling the beds down the hallway made me laugh. Don't ask me why. It was just funny as heck seeing them roll those mannequins in their beds down the hall.

The generator sounded like a hot air popper for popcorn.

The crash scene in the hallway that Halverson started is worth the price of admission. I cannot describe how over the top it is. You have to see it.

The green slime monsters CAN DRIVE the hallway transport.

The radio guy to headquarters was such a happy fellow in the scene when Jack asks him to contact headquarters. He's smiling like a 6 year old kid that just tasted chocolate for the first time.

I still hate Jack.

If Vince dies and Jack ends up with Lisa I have to downgrade this movie to svcking balls.

One of the sounds for the music they keep using is the one from the 50's cartoon "Tom and Jerry" the one where Jerry's uncle comes to town and plays and breaks his guitar. He has to pluck Tom's whiskers to use as a new string. The sound of him plucking the whisker and I also believe of him breaking the string are used in this.

The two of them jumping out of the space station and spinning away.

Why is the space station burning into flames?

I knew what I was going to see when I watched this movie. It didn't disappoint. I give it a solid 3/10.

Ha ha Ha ha ha! I happened to take the day off today and saw this on TCM. I'm assuming you just watched it as well since you posted a few hours ago. :-)
Yes, this may be one of the best-worst movies I've ever seen. Love the helmets that the cast was probably forced to wear and I bet revolted against wearing but lost the argument cause the Japanese director didn't understand what they were saying. Richard Jaeckal is awesome and that redhead girl is UBER HOT awesome as we're her hot nurse friends like you said.
It's funny how some movies can get made. :-)
Agree with solid 3 and the fact that it did not disappoint one bit. :-) Good post.

I can't believe it but this was my first viewing of this film.

Really bad - especially for 1968. Seems more in line with late 1950s "blob/slime" movies. Other than the cult classic The Blob (1958), The H-Man (1958) is my favorite of this sub-genre.

I agree with every line of your post.

3 stars out of 10? What does one have to do to get a 2? Or 1? I know ... the sequel. Another must see is Zardoz. Sean Connery in a pony tail. Incredibly stupid. Love it.

Way-Min-it....You watched a cheesy 1960's b movie and "Jotted a few things down"....? Really? Why?

Are you taking a course in The Study of the Impact of late 20th Century Films in early 21st Century Pop Culture?

When you watched STAR WARS did you, what, type up a thesis?

While I watch a movie I might have some Beer, chips and salsa, or maybe cookies and milk or just stroke the top of my dogs head while he is sleeping next to me. Note jotting?......geeez.

Guess she didn't like the cornbread either.

And naturally they brought guns down to the asteroid, can't be too careful. Actually, as it turned out, they probably should have been more careful.

And how can you hate Jack? He did recommend Vince for the highest commendation. What a guy!
