I am sure I saw an earlier French movie, BW, based on the novel Le Grand Meaulnes. Has anyone else seen it?

Earlier than what? The 1967 is the first one usually listed.

Then there was another a year or two ago.

The print of the "original" (1967) that I saw was shot in strange almost pastel
colours.

I am looking for a copy of Paris Match in which there was an article about Jean Blaise being chosen to play the part of Augustin Meaulnes. It must have been 1966 or very early 1967. Any ideas as to where to find it?
