goofs?

I know this is not a great movie, but I love it to death anyway.
One goof I can't find comments on--he says he's "going on holiday to the new excavations of Pompeii" which is in Italy, and then the rest of the time they talk about him being such a Greek scholar and imply over and over that they have been in Greece. Does this bother anyone else?
