Underrated little sci-fi gem

Saw this a couple times on late night tv in the late 80's. It wasnt until i recently viewed the star trek episode "All our Yesterdays" from season 3 with Marriette Hartley guest starring that i recalled this film.

Interesting story and well done for a tv movie IMO....i need to get a hold of a copy to revisit it.

Same. Just rewatched... took some finding as I didnt remember much about it.
very under rated.

They could do worse than a remake of this.

How interesting that Roddenberry, a proponent of the idea that humanity would survive to create starships and a galactic federation, would create a series with a premise that we ultimately destroyed ourselves to start anew.

All the Roddenberry traits were put into this show, the respect for human life, the use of a multi-racial cast, a belief that science would eventually help us all and some of the good bits about Trek. Sad that it didn't get picked up as a series. I think it would have done well.

In the Stark Trek universe, humanity DID destroy itself through nuclear war and then rebuild itself.
