No love for this?

Seeing it was Toshiro Mifune's birthday, I finally decided to move the 166 minutes of Samurai Banners to the top of my Netflix queue. My initial reaction upon finishing my viewing was that I wished I had seen this sooner. The outfits and scenery were amazing and of course Mifune didn't disappoint, but I wonder why a movie of such scope only has 308 ratings, most of them not higher than 7.

Other than the 6-7 well written reviews here, there are no messages concerning the content of the movie nor is there any trivia. Perhaps it is one of those hard to find dvds...not really sure. About the ending... the arrow in the eye was a nice touch...wouldn't that have gone into his brain?? As they say, perhaps just the tip went in ;)

I just watched this now and came here expecting to see a fair amount of discussion, but instead I see only two threads. Yours is nearly three years old. I'm surprised because this was one of the best Mifune films i've seen, really amazing period film that takes you right into 16th century Japan. Mifune was great as ever. This movie deserves more than just two threads on this forum.
