Any clue to where the castle outside is located?


I'd like to know where the outside shots of the castle ("even the towers got their own credit") were filmed. It's not Barcelona, it's not the Ciutadella park or Güell park, that'd be for the interior gardens and corridors. One might assume Istanbul, but given that this is a Jess Franco movie and he frequently used random footage, it might be anywhere really!

My uncle used to live a short walk away, so I've been in it and walked passed a number of times. I'll update the locations information accordingly. Quite how they thought they'd fool anyone into thinking the interiors were connected to the exterior is a question I don't think anyone will be able to answer.

The steep cliff area where the man reports he has sen a couple of coffins being unloaded looks like Eyüp Cemetry up the Golden Horn (although I don't think the cemetery itself was used in the earlier scene), although you don't see enough to know for sure:
