Probably the first French film I've ever watched

This was on TCM a few nights ago, thankfully with english subtitles. I actually don't watch foreign films that much, I don't speak French for example, and subtitles can sometimes be a distraction. But since I was familiar with the story thanks to the "WILD CHILDREN" episode of IN SEARCH OF..., I decided to give it a go. It was quite good, and I got to learn more. It was late so I was thankful it wasn't a long film, though I kind of wish it had been longer, perhaps explore his adulthood as I'm not too familiar with what happened after the events of the famous story. I had to read about it.

It was ok. I think it needed another actor in the place of the teacher. Francois Truffaut was not a great actor by any means.
