Abrupt Ending
There could have been a bit more to it, although it perhaps foreshadows The Candidate's ending - "He won!...Now what?"
shareReading your subject line before your post, the parallel to The Candidate occurred to me as well.
I think in both cases, the move is rather pointedly about the process of pursuing the goal, rather than what attaining it might entail, as that was something that neither character really gave much though to.
