I think this is one of Hammer's weaker psycho thrillers, but it's still enjoyable. You might enjoy "Scream Of Fear," "Paranoiac," "Nightmare" (1964), "Die! Die! My Darling!" and "The Nanny" even more than "Crescendo."
"Fear In The Night" is a decent Hammer psycho thriller too, but I don't think it's as good as the titles above.
"Straight On Till Morning" is Hammer's serial killer psycho thriller, and it's rather offbeat. It's probably the least attractive of the psycho thriller films, and it's the hardest to endure.
Some people put "The Anniversary" in with Hammer's psychological thrillers, but it's really a dark comedy. It's a good film.
Now if we can only get "Hysteria" and "Maniac" (1963) onto DVD! There are bootleg discs for both titles, but it's not the same as having a factory pressed DVD.
