Not a made for TV movie

Unlike what the comment on the main page says, this was not a made for TV movie. It was produced in the UK (with location work in France) by Hammer Studios, which at that point was primarily producing theatrical movies (and indeed was the leading British horror studio of the 1950s-70s).
