Bob Crane

First thing I thought of while watching this film. This is how old Bob Crane Came Apart. Starts out real fun.. yeah and all the sudden somebody's smashing yer head with the tripod of a camera. Haven't finished watching the movie yet so .. it's still a mystery how Bill goes down but the bastard should go down - He's A Mean One That Mr Grinch. I don't think he even likes sex. I think he's ... well I'd better keep my half-baked opinions to myself til i've finished watching this pathethic piece of crap.

So did you finally finish it? I don't think it's spoiling anything to say that nothing else happened in this film, plotwise. It is true that Rip Torn's character didn't seem to like sex, in fact, he didn't seem to like anything, not the least of which was himself. In that regard, I think he differed from Bob Crane, who seemed to like sex a great deal. In fact, if he were still alive, I'm sure he'd be having it as you read this. Now there's a thought!

Yep.. I finished watching the movie and believe it or not, I got to understanding Bill and having a bit more feelings for the screwed up bastard closer to the end. The chick that tore up his office. Was that .. Sally Kirkland? I couldn't tell. I saw Sally Kirkland, Keith Carradine and Tom Waits in a movie written by the same guy who wrote Rancho Deluxe. It was called Cold Feet.. Turkish Fig? It was about this oversexed gaudish cougar woman played by Kirkland who takes up with Keith Carradine because she wants to marry "a completely dishonest cowboy" and he's the only one she's ever met that fit the bill completely. Then there's the psychotic killer who calls himself by an alias (which I can't recall this moment) and insists everyone else do the same thing. These three people get this horse and have jewels implanted in it's intestinal tract or somewhere. Anyway, Monte, the completely dihonest cowboy, steals the horse and rides it out to his brothers ranch in Montana. He wasn't suppose to do that! A flight ensues. It's a mixed up piece. ...obviously. Turkish Fig? Here have one... go on... go on.. I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

Just a few weeks after seeing "Coming Apart," it all a blur. In fact, I didn't recognize Sally Kirkland until the bonus features showed her, but she's had major plastic surgery and changed her appearance drastically. I think she cries a lot in the film, and she wears kind of a "net" necklace. I don't think she's the one who throws things.

I saw "Cold Feet" years ago, but I remember very little about it. And yes, it was written by the same guy who wrote "Rancho Deluxe" (Thomas McGuane), but I had to look that one up.

He makes knives now. The last time I heard he was living with his wife in Montana and they handmade hunting knives. At least they did several years ago. I was going to buy one at one time. He also wrote Missouri Breaks and a couple other successes. Cold Feet wasn't among them tho... Cold Feet was a third-rate drive-in special. I really miss drive-in movies... The Starlites and the Moonlights.. Anyway, I was really surprised that during this crazy cowboy film called Cold Feet - Jeff Bridges made a cameo as a bartender. He was in the movie for all of about 45 seconds. They billed Tom Waits as a "maniacal hit man".. Kinda threw everybody a curve when they actually got to see it. Pissed people off

I got a Leonard Cohen DVD in. He's great as an old man. It's like he was born to be an old man. He's sooo much better with the age on him.

I said to Hank Williams
How lonely does it get?
Hank Williams hasn't answered yet.
But I can hear him coughing
All Night Long
A hundred floors above me..
In the tower of song.
