that wacky plane hijacking......

watched it again when it popped up on TV last night....one of the all time great international multi-language Euro-trash co-productions...(and one of the last of its kind, since that era was rapidly closing out and the Euro-Pulp stuff became almost exclusively Italian)
But the jet plane caper was priceless....(the entire clan gets on the plane with handguns.....nobody on the plane seems to care that the flight staff has suddenly been reduced to a single stewardess......if they re-made this film today, the writers would have a tough time re-inventing this sequence...)
One more random thought...just loved that huge restaurant/deli/bar/whatever
where Delon's sister works.

Clearly none of that would have worked today but I love watching old movies to see what things were like in those days. People could fly using other people's names and tickets and everything was so lax'd.

I don't know why but I loved when the whole cake was being sliced and served in flight. It was in first class but I don't think they do that now. I was surprised movies were being shown too. I thought that was a recent thing in air travel but how little I know. I wondered if the 9-11 hijackers had seen and taken inspiration from this movie. The bad guys took over the plane and one even got behind the controls to fly the plane.

I won't call it a remake but I'd love to see this movie updated just to see how all the things that could be done back then would be handled today. I also really liked the story and though it as much more than what it seemed to be.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
