Help with song!

I love the song that plays during the credits at the beginning and end of the movie, the subtitles called it Cher - Band of Thieves. I love this song and have been searching the internet endlessly for either a download or a place that I could buy the album it might be on. But have found absolutely nothing, it's as though the song really doesn't exist elsewhere besides being played during the movie "Chastity". If anyone has information that can help, I'd appreciate it greatly.

Hey dragontatt5 you can find Chastity's Song (Band Of Thieves) on the bonus tracks on the Rhino re-release of Cher's 3614 Jackson Highway album. You can buy it from www.rhinohandmade.com but you'd better hurry up because only a limited amount were made.

All I really wanted the song 'Band of Thieves', and another poster tipped me on where to find it. There's a Cher album called 3614 Jackson Highway that not only has Band of Thieves (both mono and stereo versions), but many other hard to find bonus tracks like Superstar and Cry Like a Baby. The whole album is great and has become my favorite Cher album ever. It captures a unique style in a time between Sonny and Cher's early songs and Cher's solo career. It's very late sixties style with only Cher on vocals, but still with Sonny's writing style, along with a few covers of popular songs from the late sixties. This album was an attempt to break from their early sixties lightweight songs like I Got You Babe and The Beat Goes On to a more edgy style that was becoming the 'new sound' of the later sixties. I have the DVD of Chastity and I love it. Between the Chastity DVD and the CD album 3614 Jackson Highway, I've got all I need. But thanks all the same!!

I saw that you got it and was leaving the link more for anyone else that was looking for it (I often forget some people have it set to be notified of replies).

The Rhino Handmade "3614 Jackson Highway" release is phenomenal but it was a web exclusive that went out of print quickly and it's now next to impossible to find for less than $150. "Highway" did eventually get a re-release, but it's just a dupe of the original 11 track LP without all the bonuses (like "Band of Thieves," which is neither on the vinyl version nor the newer CD). And the "Chastity" soundtrack itself has been out of print for 40 years.

It's cool, share the knowledge!! I did end up getting it from rhinohandmade.com. I can't remember how much I paid for it, seems like it wasn't much, no more than $20-$30. It's got all the songs from the original album release, plus about 5 bonus tracks. The songs sound great, no indication of a vinyl transfer at all. Straight studio quality. Maybe someday they'll release the Chastity soundtrack on CD, especially since the movie Chastity finally came out on DVD. Cher hates this movie. The only reason it ever got released on DVD is because she doesn't own the rights to it, Sonny did. When he died, those rights went to his side of the deal, probably his manager. Now that Chastity has a bigger cult following due to it's re-release, maybe the soundtrack will get a re-release as well.

Actually, MGM attained the rights to all of AIP's (American Internation Pictures) movies around 25 years ago but, initially, they only released stuff on video that they thought would be particularly lucrative (the early days of home video were quite different from the DVD era). I first taped the movie from an airing on FLIX around 15 years ago, and they'd slapped an MGM logo on it back then.

I had no idea Cher hates the movie. That's weird, considering she's so good in it -- though it was completely omitted from "Sonny & Me: Cher Remembers," a TV special she put together a few months after Sonny's death.

And I think the original retail price for Rhino's "Jackson Highway" CD, which contains 12 extra tracks, was $19.95. It really sucks that people are making $130 on it. I never share stuff that's in print, but when albums are going for prices like that (and the artists aren't seeing a dime), I figure it's fair game to be freely shared.

Cher said that she liked the original screenplay, but Sonny kept changing it because he didn't like seeing his wife doing some of the things that Chastity was supposed to do. The nudity is NOT Cher, it's a body double. A&E has a series called Biography that was an hour long bio condensing a celebrities life. In the episode on Cher, she explains her hatred for the movie's end result, oweing it's bad reception to Sonny's bad screenwriting skills. He wrote their first movie as well 'Good Times' which was a total flop as well.
