Available On Vid or DVD?

My mother raves about this film. I have never seen it, so I have no idea why. I'm curious about it. I haven't seen it listed available on tape or DVD, so I have to think that it couldn't be that great.

Is it available? I'd like to get a copy for my mom, since she is a huge fan.

I don't think it is available on anything. I have searched off and on through the years. I don't know if this movie if I am able to see it again would be as good as when we went to the movies to see it. I remember it being funny - but there are many times when you see things as a young person that when you watch it as an older one you wonder why you were so enthralled with it. This was the last movie I saw with my oldest brother before he got shipped out; I guess that is why I wish to have it now. Funny 34 years later and it seems just as fresh as if it were this past Friday night.

I know it was available in Europe either rental video or purchase-video. I work in the Anwterp public library in the video department and we have a copy. We still cling on to it because it is not available on DVD (as of yet). But knowing the French it will be a question of soon...if they feel like it-:)

Film issued on DVD in France during March 2007 Region II
Unfortunately French Soundtrack and French Subtitles Only
Film has been Certified Tomlinson Holman Experiment ( THX) so picture quality is first rate.

Thank you! Will be looking forward to it.

I just came back to this thread and realized you said you were at Antwerp. I was in Antwerp just last month!

I wish I remembered this, I would have visited the library and tried to steal your brain!

Unfortunately, the video and DVD for Europe do not match the USA versions.

I will likely return to Belgium this summer... Watch out for me!

The English version is now on Netflix instant. Paramount owns this, and they seem to think at the moment that nobody wants to buy their old movies.
