And it's the same film where there is scene of money hidden in statue of liberty?

reply

Yep, is !! Lovely movie, full of clever ideas and funny twists!!!

reply

you're right. This movie has many clever ideas. MOre than any new movie today. I've never seen it before (or just can't remember) but for its "Bebél" 80th Birtday it was running on TV last weekend in Germany - it was pure fun to watching it.

Yes, it was on BAYERN 3 and I watched it again for the most part.

I just LOOOOVE this fantastic scene, where Italo-beauty SILVIA MONTI (the little sister of Eli Wallach) throws that small statue through the window and then slides down to the wonderful vocal CENTO GIORNI by CATERINA CASELLI, while all men are watching her in awe.

This scene sums up what 60ies movies are all about: the joy of living, beautiful scenery, extremely funny situations and all that delivered by the sure craftsmanship of Gerard Oury. JUST WONDERFUL!

And I am not the only one delighted by it, this scene is even on youtube!

Certainly one of the best Belmondo-comedies, I think even better than THE MAN FROM RIO (which I also like a lot).

That´s a movie for repeated viewing and sadly they don´t make clever comedies like that anymore (because they can´t, I guess, there aren´t directors like back then anymore).

i have seen this one as a child and always thought its a great movie,
which i need to have in my collection.
but today i ve seen it again and was really disappointed.
the humour is so dated that its not that good anymore.
i think, this movie is dated
