reply

So far all of Olive Films blu ray releases have been region free, thus one can assume this one will be, too.

reply

It's region-free, as is Greed in the Sun, so you can play them outside the US. However, they've taken the unusual step of region A-locking both Long Day's Journey Into Night and Twilight's Last Gleaming, so they might be having a change of policy unless it was simply a coding error. The transfer on The Brain is very nice indeed - no extras, but it's a good 2.35:1 widescreen version of the longer French-language version and, surprisingly, Niven and wallach both speak their French and Italian dialogue themselves (and very well, too) rather than being dubbed.

Niven speaks French like I do - with an English accent. He's terrible, as am I.
Wallach is exceptionally good with both French and Italian.

reply

Elli Wallach is dubbed in the French version, at least partially. Most of the time, you can hear voice actor Roger Carel instead.

Carel was one of the most used voices on TV. He voiced, everybody from Kermit the Frog to Benny Hill. He's historically been the voice of Asterix, in every animated feature on the character. The guy must be pushing 90, but he voiced him again in a CGI film released last year.
