WHAT A KICK A$$ WAR FILM!!!!

When I was a kid (10 or so in the eighties), I had missed Castle Keep 3 times when it played on T.V. I usually caut at the beginning, or towards the very end. I had new the film was called Keep, ands kept thinking the Michel Mann fim had something to do with it, (but later found out that the Keep was a horror film), But alas I had rented Castle keep at my library, and experienced one of the best war fims ever.

Before I start, sonme viewers would be harsh on Castle Keeps inacuracies of historical war scenes, however the viewer must know that this is a fairy tale story, with gothic elements set in world war 2, where a motley crew of americian soldiers must hold out to the german infantry in an old castle. Not giving too much away Director sydney pollak has some great surreul imagery, and a great atmosphere. The cinemotography in Castle Keep is gorgeous, giving the great castle life, thus becoming the center piece of the film. The dialouge is great, focusing exestenialism, Fans of Jarhead will like this film. However, Castle Keep has great build up to an action packed conclusion. To sum it all up Castle Keep is a poetic, warfilm with action and great dialouge, I would strongly recommend seeing this film!!!

My 2nd fave after "Where Eagles Dare". A beautiful snowy setting for a dream-like movie.
