The most perverse degenerates in the history of the motion pictures

Martin must be among the most perverse degenerates in the history of the motion pictures. Others nominates would be?

Have you seen Salo by Pasolini ? The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover by Greenaway ? Try those films, you will find some interesting characters.

But, you're right. Martin is definitely a perverse degenerate.

Yes I have seen them. I love the Cook... but I can't say the same for Salo :-)

Don't understand why people here think that Martin is the most perverse....I've already read the similar opinions...

for me he seems to be just a little bastard, perverse enough of course, but which mostly was manipulated by his more blood-thirsty and power-thirsty relatives...;))

For example, in Eisenstein's Ivan Groznyy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037824/, there is the same type - Vladimir Staritsky: young and not very bright and also pretty and also his mother and others use him for their goals in power-fight as he is an heir...it's almost stereotype...:))

I don't think Martin IS the most perverse. I said that he "must be AMONG the most perverse degenerates in the history of the motion pictures."

I think he is more than a little bastard. Raping children and ones mother is more than being a little bastard :-)

Ok, i see...simply I exaggerated your words accidentally...

Even don't know...probably Martin is a symbol of dark and wild side of this family since his actions we can watch during the film...Maybe Martin wants to be loved but he can't get this love from others: adults think him as a fool spoiled boy therefore little girls are closer to him...and prefers make love with them...

He also wants his mother to love but in Martin imagination mother-son love became incest...or that's sort of revenge for lack of mother love - but in film it's not very clear...he inherited vices from his mother, but for me he seems to be a victim of these vices...

And mother and Konstantin and Aschenbach explore his weaknesses for their goals...I think Aschenbach here is a main villain...

Donald Sutherland's Atilla in "Novocento" ("1900")

Peter Lorre's "Hans in "M"

Any number of people in "Salo"

Michael Rooker and Tom Towles as Henry and Otis in "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer"

But you ARE Blanche ... and I AM.

Mickey Hargitay's Warner Anderson in The Crimson Executioner.

I agree with you Krystine!

Martin is the product of his environment and a little bit on the psychopathic side by his own merits (LOL).

Another character to the list of most perverse (or perverted) ones -
Patrick Bateman from "American Psycho".

Talk about perverse. .this movie was a prime example. The gay orgy, Martin's incest, and is molesting the two little girls, plus, of course, the whole Nazi regime. Sickening, a tragedy.
