Spaghetti Westerns: Craggy men in dusters standing around while great music plays

Am I missing anything?

By that standard, you could say something similar about 2001: A Space Odyssey if you change craggy men in dusters to young men in spacesuits. Leone's movies are a sometimes a little slow, but still excellent in my book.

Although it may seem that way, movies like The Good, Bad & the Ugly shows there's a lot of motion, energy and talky dialogue. That movie is one of those "I watch one scene and can't turn off the TV" because I get so absorbed at how great and "lively" it actually is.

The scenes where men stand around in dusters does occur a few times, yes, but much of it is just lots of great dialogue and acting with Tuco, sweeping and inventive camera shots, and Clint playing the keen, squinty strategist/orchestrator who is, again, too smart for the idiots he's surrounded with. It's like his detached character lingers around waiting for another life, silently bemoaning the age he was born in.
