The Remake: Who directs and who plays the 3 parts ?
Director: Quentin Tarantino
Harmonica: Jean-claude van damme
Frank: Kevin Costner
Jill McBain : Keira Knightley

That's one of the worst casting I've ever seen. Seriously. Jean Claude Van Damme is way too old, doesn't look right in the least (and can't act worth a damn to boot). I really doubt Kevin Costner would be able to play a decent Frank. Keira Knightley is the only one that would be ok, and where is Cheyenne?

Why would you create such a horrifying concept?!?!?!?!?!

Seriously though... it would be complete and utter blasphemy to remake this film.
But if I had to...
Director: Clint Eastwood (having worked with Leone several times, he'd put forth the best effort and remain true to the concept)
Harmonica: DiCaprio
Frank: Daniel Day-Lewis
Cheyenne: Viggo Mortensen
Jill: Jennifer Connelly
That is actually a pretty good casting.
shareI can't stand DiCaprio, he is not Bronson's caliber. He tries too hard. Frank should be played by a very good actor who has never been a bad guy in film, someone with a goody goody reputation, someone like Tom Hanks or the like.

I'd rather see Viggo as Frank, and Daniel Day-Lewis as Cheyenne.

Yes that sounds great.
shareHow about.
Director: Michael Bay
Harmonica: Brendan Fraser
Jill: Beyonce
Cheyenne: Michael Cera
Frank: Sarah Jessica Parker

i disagree with the idea of a remake but your cast in my opinion is the best so far
Director: Quentin Tarantino (he already rips off leone, why not rip off an entire film shot for shot)
Frank: Mel Gibson in a tour de force performance-- im serious with this one
Harmonica: Javier Bardem
Jill: I agree Scarlett would be ideal
Cheyenne: I also agree Josh Brolin would be perfect
^^^Nice (excepting the choice of director).

Readings this post was I think the first time I actually laughed reading an IMDB post.

The signature long shot would be Cheyenne's first attack on the train. Also, if not a classic western, the setting and plot is updated to modern America - a useless piece of desert will become valuable as a wealthy industrialist has lobbied the president, to approve and build the biggest ever solar farm, powering southern California. Leasing the land and running an attached town would be worth hundreds of billions. Hey, more than that. Thousands of billions. They call them trillions.
Jill McBain: Olivia Wilde
Harmonica: Joaquin Phoenix
Cheyenne: Kiefer Sutherland
Frank: Russell Crowe
Morton: Gary Oldman
Director : Paul Thomas Anderson ( Proven director in relation to moody epic productions - There Will Be Blood )
Harmonica : Ryan Gosling ( Though he needs beating up a little - too good looking )
Frank : Mel Gibson ( Especially now considering his outcast villain status )
Cheyenne : Benicio Del Toro ( Great character actor - awesome screen presence )
Jill McBain : Eva Green ( More than competent at playing strong willed women - Vesper Lynd - Casino Royale )
Morton : Willem Dafoe ( An undervalued talent )
Though the above is my casting choice, no persons will improve on this western masterpiece.
