Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

I watched this movie last night. on DVD and I loved it. Robert Redford, Paul Newman and Katherine Ross were great. I loved the scene where Paul Newman is riding a horse and singing "Raindrops keep falling on my head". It was a great movie. I highly recommend it!

Now that the bot program slimone has struck again with another of her valueless "reviews" of classic movies, I thought it might be worthwhile to paste the words I first wrote to slimone on its American Graffiti thread eleven days before her monumental study of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid:

"I took a gander at your posting history and realized it's the same thing over and over and over. "I just saw [insert film] on DVD. It had great performances from [various stars, some even marginal ones]. I highly recommend it!" There---I've just written your next review for you."

You're right. I read your post, checked for myself.

I have a cousin who was born mentally deficient (I don't know what the current politically-correct phrase is).

She's a sweet lady... able to function independently... but these posts are the sort of cheery but calorie-empty things she's sez.

Because of her condition she doesn't have many real world friends, so she joins online communities as a way to meet people.

I try to remember that, on the Internet, you never know what somebody's back story is.

No shame/blame game intended here. Just a gentle heads up.

fwiw.

That is very sweet of you to presume that moviechat's version of Pauline Kael known as "slimone" might be mentally deficient rather than, as I contend, a bot program whose "reviews" are the same for every movie she writes about. If this woman were truly mentally retarded, as you believe, she wouldn't be writing about movies like American Graffiti or Lawrence of Arabia. I have total contempt for this robotic program everytime I see she has littered moviechat with another of her worthless scribblings.

I was uncertain about the whole bot business. However, this clears it up. The raindrops keep falling scene was ridiculous and did not fit in the movie at all. No actual human being would say they liked that absurd scene.

You have a point, one of the worst scenes in one of the best films of all time.

I don’t understand the motives of a bot program poster. Why would someone want to do something like this?

This is weird. I just saw a comment from you on another thread here from 7 months ago where you weren’t quite as positive

“I was not impressed with the movie at all. I watched it because I'm a fan of Newman and Redford, but I kept fast forwarding it until the end.”

Gave it a second chance?

In any case I think you’ll find it was BJ Thomas singing and a bicycle Newman was riding in that scene.

Great movie from a great period in cinema.
