DVD Release

They should get this on DVD. As well as the other feature films, too. But here's what I think they should have on each movie on DVD:

- Film fully restored and remastered
- Fully remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound
- Restored Original Mono Soundtrack
- French and Spanish Language Tracks
- English subtitles

- Theatrical Trailers for movie
- Any Peanuts TV Specials that relate to the feature-length movie.
- TV ads for movie
- Commentaries
- Publicity Gallery (Posters, lobby cards, etc.)
- Behind the scenes with the original cast and crew
- A behind the scenes lok at the restoration
- Before/Restored Split Screen comparisons
- And much more!

So there you have it. I hope Paramount Home Entertainment does what I expect for these Charlie Brown Movies to be on DVD for the very first time.

I heard about that.

The only problem is that at this time there are no details. I'm hoping for at least a few extras like a trailer or maybe some audio commentary.

By the looks of the packaging they seem to be taking it as 'seriously' as the rest of them.

Cool! The film will be in Widescreen (enhanced for Widescreen T.V.s) and have Dolby 5.1 sound.

Unfortunately, it looks like it might be a crop of the 4:3 version, which was itself a pan & scan from the original. A reviewer on Amazon sugegsted this, & I think he might be right, since some scenes look like something was chopped off of them...

This is a VERY bare-bones disc. It doesn't even have a Spanish language track, which even the old CED release had!

In case you forgot what CED (a.k.a. Selectavision) was, or are too young to remember, check out this site to find out everything you'd want to know about it...
