One of my favorite scenes

I hadn't seen this movie in many years, but always remembered my favorite scene. It's the spelling bee. When they would just show the kid's heads. Then, when they would mispell a word, you would hear the teacher's "voice" WAAAAAA! and then the kid's head would "POP!" disappear. Hilarious. I just got the DVD & skipped to that scene. And even at my age, this scene still makes me laugh.

I don't remember the WAH! thing, but the adult's voices were always done with a trombone, which was funny in and of itself. And notice how there are a whole bunch of kids missing in a row. Well, they had to do that for time. They couldn't have in each round just one kid missing. They didn't want to make this Titanic.

I love the spelling bee scenes. I first saw this movie when I was 10 years old and at the time I prided myself in being a good speller and remembered participating in spelling bees just like Charlie Brown, so those scenes really resonated with me. And I could almost imagine the disembodied heads like in the movie.
