Dyan Cannon Looked A Bit...Old?

While Dyan Cannon had an INSANE body in this movie, her face seemed not to match. She appeared older than her age suggested. This is a bit odd because she was a young woman in 1969 and, as the 70s continued, she started to look BETTER! This is not to say that she wasn't attractive in 1969, because she certainly was. Perhaps my perception of her was altered because she was working with Natalie Wood, who looks STUNNING in this movie. MOST people would've looked PLAIN next to Natalie Wood! And I don't think Dyan Cannon's change was due to plastic surgery. Could've been, but if it was, then it was the BEST surgery ever! She looked her best around '77 - '82. I started thinking about this after seeing "Author! Author!" with Al Pacino in 1982. Dyan Cannon was his co-star and I think she looked really good in that one, better than she did in 1969. And anyway, this is all just my opinion and doesn't mean a damn thing!

I'm sure she has had work done over the years, but you have to admit, she ended up aging better than the rest of her co-stars. Had Natalie survived, I'm sure she would still look great, too, but Dyan Cannon is still a very hot 70something-year-old woman.

Like Cliff Clavin, my brain is full of useless trivia

I'm quite sure she's had "work" done as it is almost a given in Hollywood, but I was wondering if perhaps she had something done between 1969 and 1977-82. She was 32 in '69 and would've been around 44-45 in '82 when I thought she looked REAL good in "Author! Author!" I just thought she looked better (her face anyway) at 45 than she did at 32 when she did "B&C&T&A"! And she does indeed look great for being over 70. I also think Joan Collins looks pretty damn good for a senior citizen. And you KNOW she'd be a WILDCAT in the sack, too!

I think it was because of the combination of "ash" blond hair (not very flattering for a woman of her complexion under the best of circumstances) and her deep tan. And her "boxer" nose, which looked incredibly prominent in this movie, didn't help either.

But I totally agree that she is (as was Natalie, IMO) one of those women who only get better loooking with age. I remember being wowed by her appearance in "Christmas in Connecticut"! Maybe she had her nose surgically refined, or maybe it was the result of the natural aging process. Either way, twenty years after "Bob & Carol & etc." she did look much better.

Agreed, her hair aged her and it seemed she had tanned her face to leather.

HOWEVER, when she stripped down to her undies, I wanted that body!

I would have done her then and now. Some women just don't get old.

I did indeed like her starting in the 70s. As my OP was saying, she seemed to get better looking the older she got. Especially loved seeing her on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, as she was a frequent guest.

Cool!

This is my first time watching this movie, and I absolutely loved it.
Imo, I thought that both women looked beautiful in the movie. I wonder why so many feel the need to pick other people apart as far as looks go. Isn't that what makes each one of us unique and different. But since others say, well her nose is big, or her breasts are too small, her lips too thin, her butt too flat etc......we have a bunch of post surgery freaks walking around out there who imo look a million times worse than how they started off. Who do we think we are? Leave people alone and let's just worry about OURSELVES instead of trying to make people do what "WE" want them to do. The world would be a much nicer place to exist in.

I don't think the op is slamming Dyan's looks. I have to agree that she got better with age. The first movie I recall seeing her in was Heaven Can Wait. She was so beautiful in it. I saw this movie (BCTA) and barely recognized Ms. Cannon. She did truly change a lot between the late 60's snd late 70's.
