Where was this shown originally?
I suspect that before the age of video and YouTube, this appeared on the midnight movie circuit. Has anyone seen this in the theater?

shareI suspect it was originally shown at the creator's college or something. Not sure about the theatrical release, and then the GODZILLA 1985 vhs included it.

Thanks. I didn't realize this was on the "Godzilla: 1985" VHS. I remember hearing about this title for years before I actually saw it.
shareyeah, it's on right before the movie
Not sure why it was included, or if there have been rights issues.

I get the feeling "Bambi Meets Godzilla" is in the public domain, so anything goes. I doubt the creator got permission to use "Bambi" or "Godzilla" anyway -- in name or in likeness (assuming anyone even owns these characters anymore)! ;-)
shareToho still has Godzilla. They stopped the MST3K Volume 10 box set because it included GODZILLA VS MEGALON. I think that's what happened. They take their giant monster movies seriously.
Luckily I got a copy before it went out of print. Now it was replaced by THE GIANT GILA MONSTER.

I guess the Japanese know when to hang on to a profitable franchise. I wonder if Blue Öyster Cult had to pay licensing fees to record the song "Godzilla."
shareThe first time I remember seeing it was on an old Nickelodeon show called Turkey Television.
I also remember being in tears by the time he did the thing with his claws.
"You people voted for Hubert Humphrey! And you killed Jesus!" - Raoul Duke
Thanks for that. I vaguely remember "Turkey Television" in the mid-'80s as kind of a potpourri of weird video and animation.
