Disturbing

I find this incredibly disturbing, especially the piano chord in the end... it somehow disturbs me profoundly, albeit in a funny way. Does anybody else feel the same?

reply

Of course not you little tree hugger

reply

I second that.

I understand what you mean. If the cartoon had had a different soundtrack, with a comedy Monty Python raspberry sound when Godzilla stomps on Bambior something similar, this short would not be nearly as odd and unnerving. But the juxtaposition between the tranquil music and the thunderous piano chord (the famous Beatles "A Day in the Life" chord) and then the silence as the chord just echoes out makes the whole things far more impactful.

I'll leave it at that so more gibbering idiots can come and call us both tree huggers and pansies!

I see where you're coming from, but I guess I'm unaffected by it simply because the chord doesn't come in at a jarringly loud level.

Your *supposed* to be disturbed, did that occur to you?! By the image, and the sound. So it was successful.

BTW, I don't think it's the "A Day in a Life" chord, maybe similar, but not that actual chord. The "Day" chord has a whole different range of harmonics not present in the "Bambi meets" piece.

I'm afraid it simply made me laugh... but I can see why someone might be disturbed by it. I just found it very, very funny.

I saw this on the Internet at night when I was eleven years old. I had and still have paranoia, as well as a hyperactive thought process, so as such...

I was bothered by it by seeing it. I went back and watched it, older now, I should say, and I still kind of laugh, but at the same time, I'm slightly bothered by it, mostly because it overshoots my kind of humor. Plus, my imagination makes me believe Godzilla is really there...

That was me at age eleven... This is me at age Seventeen.

Still scarred, oddly enough.

It's seriously more scarring than what happens in Bambi, The Disney Movie.

I thought I was the only one. I first saw it back in the 90s and I was a huge Godzilla fan. I understood the joke but was also creeped out by the music and just how short and to the point it is.

This is my signature.

Do us all a favor and commit suicide, you *beep* weakling.

reply

I wasn't disturbed.

reply

I could see being disturbed by it if the animation was extremeley realistic, but since it's just a pencil sketch it doesn't really have any impact.

Have it in CGI with brains, furr and blood squirting out: now you have disturbing!

reply

One has to ask why it hasn't been done already.

reply

Give it time!

a lot of people have a lot of production capacity available to them, and more than a few have way too much time on their hands!
