Try to catch their 1965 spoof of the James Bond films called "Masquerade" on TCM if you can. It's one of the best of the non-Bond spy films that filled the theaters after the success of "Goldfinger." Cliff Robertson and Jack Hawkins are a pair of spies who kidnap an Arabian prince in order to keep him safe until he is old enough to ascend his country's throne and continue Britain's rights to the oil. No one in it is who or what he/she seems and it's filled with comedy as well as suspense. Basil Dearden is one of the most talented directors of films from the 1940s through the 1960s, but he's not very well known.
