Reign of Terror of Henry VIII

I read once--I wish I could remember where exactly--that the reign of HVIII was so brutal that, by the time it ended, all of the noble families of England and Wales--from squires to the peerage--had suffered the loss of at least one member to the scaffold. Is that true? How many dead are we talking about?

There were two types of Squires....the poor working class, sometimes even the poorer gentry. Other types of squires were the younger sons of Nobles, who after gaining their education, rose up from the rank of Squire to final Knighthood............READ a history book before making such a blank statment.

Your degree must be from a Cracker Jack box.......with your grammer and spelling I don't think you are even a High School Graduate....although with educational standards around the world getting worse every year.....I suppose it's possible.

All Knights are not Nobles nor are all Nobles Knights....and YES.... some squires were obtained from the lower ranks as apprentaces........There WERE Knights who were Noble..........

But...you are one of those posters who are 100% right about EVERYTHING and know EVERYTHING there is to know...and will never accept another persons thoughts....so I am wasting no more time here.

It just amazes me how many Degree holders, Doctor's and "Experts" there are online.......seems like the world would be a much better place if that were true.

If you didn't graduate High School or get a GED...how could you POSSIBLY have TWO college degrees.

I never said I was a good typest or speller....but I don't claim to be holding two degrees either.....

As a college graduate with two degrees you should know that the term "poor working class"...means the average person....it's called an idiom.

I am done with this now......these message boards are not for drama....and to be honest...I do not belive that you have two degrees in anything...let alone History. Take as it comes.

My appologies to other people posting on this board...I don't normally "carry on" like this...but people like this REALLY bug me.

I HATE insufferable "know it alls"

Oh, one last thing I can't resist.....IF you do have two degrees...Tell me at what college you graduated from, and your name and I will verify it, and if I am wrong I WILL appologize......but not until I have some REAL proof!

Maybe it should be determined first what time-period you are talking about. Then it should be determined if you are talking England only or are you including the rest of Europe (again with consideration as to what time-period you are talking about) or perhaps even feudal Japan and China?

Look into my face. My name is Might-Have-Been, I am also called No-More, Too-Late, Farewell.

i, too, would like to know more about what you are asking. henry certainly seemed to be a brutal cold-hearted bastard. i find it unfortunate that all of the elitist 'supposed highly educated' history buffs on this board feel the need to one up each other as opposed to staying on topic & actually offering info. geesh. it's the internet people, not real life. you won't get any accolades or gold stars here.
