What was the signifigance/tie in with the May comment?

Was it an alusion to Anne to her early love in May with her first love?

I thought that it had to do with the scene in which Henry presents Anne to the people as queen and Henry grabs a flower off the tree and hands it over to her and she says "the flowers of may".
I think maybe the writers wanted to show the irony that in May of 1533 Henry loved her and in May 1536 she was to be execution under Henry's orders.
