Just got finished watching this movie on TCM. What a great film!! Even better than I remembered it when I saw it at the theater when it first came out!! Very sentimental and thought-provoking!!

You're right! A great script by Jim Fritzell and Everett Greenbaum (who collaborated on 29 scripts for "The Andy Griffith Show" from 1961 to '64, including such all-time classics as "Man In A Hurry" and "Convicts At Large"). Kudos to TCM for airing it in its original Techniscope theatrical display. Great seeing it again!
