Forgotten classic

It was an unexpected pleasure to see TCM showing this movie last night. One of those that was clean entertainment, without being too corny. Brought back a lot of memories.

Yes, I agree. Also the way I remember it as being quite realistic and showing great characters, the way some folks actually are.

This is a good, clean movie. Actually a bit profound in some ways.
For some reason, when I have seen it, I got a little choked up when
the choir sings the hymn, and also around the time of the church fire
and afterwards until almost the end.

Well, let's not go crazy and call it a forgotten classic, but it's a pleasant enough film.

I was quite disappointed in it. As a comedy, it wasn't very funny, as a drama it wasn't very moving and none of the characters seemed real enough to have an impact.
