who sang the Joni Mitchell song at the funeral

Hi! I just watched Alice's Restaurant this weekend.. loved it.. but as Joni Mitchell is one of my favorite musicians in the world.. was particular thrilled to hear the gal performing "Songs To Aging Children Come" at the funeral of Shelly.. Does anyone know the name of the musician who who was singing? She did a good job at one of my favorite songs.. (that I am listening to on cd as I type this..)

Actually, that *was* Joni Mitchell. (She's not in the IMDB credits, but check elsewhere on the Web.)

Hi! Funny you should post so soon.. I did a "google" search and I found the name of Tigger Outlaw as the person who did that song.. a Joni Mitchell "clone"...

I cant be sure, but i think she joni is credited in the credits as singing the song

maybe she had an alias name or something.. the gal in the movie wasn't blonde like Joni, but who knows. Joni or Tigger Outlaw or whoever, did a great job!

I don't think you people have ever seen Joni Mitchell in your lives. That's not Joni Mitchell. She doesn't look like Mitchell at all. It may have been her voice, but that sure as heck WASN'T Joni Mitchell.

Since I posted this I've discussed this with someone who's seen commentary from Arlo Guthrie, and I've asked Arlo via myspace about this. Tigger Outlaw is a real person, in fact, I was told she lives a few towns away from Arlo Guthrie and crew, and is married, etc. The guy I spoke with who saw the commentary on said that this gal Tigger Outlaw and Arlo Guthrie may been married for awhile?

Well, I know this much: in the commentary Arlo says he got married in '69 and is still married to the same girl, so he wasn't married to anyone for "awhile."

No, she was never married to Arlo. Arlo is still married to his first wife, Jackie. Trigger was, however, married to Geoff Outlaw, Arlo's longtime friend who plays Roger in Alice's Restaurant.

That's Trigger Outlaw, the then-wife of Geoff Outlaw, who plays Roger.
