There are two verions coming out on dvd from Blue Underground: the "director's cut" and a French version with hardcore inserts (apparently not shot by Franco).
Is it worth getting the hardcore version? And why isn't it a 2-disc set, as William Lustig had announced it?
I´ve got the non-explicit version, but I´m interested in the french version as well. The reason it´s a 2-disc:er is probably the usual one: more money if you make people buy it twice. Sadly.

The hardcore part is a few minutes of real porn, in & out stuff. It is so clearly patched in from somewhere else; not the same actors, no faces, no voices.
You can make a hardcore version yourself if you just cut and paste in your favourite moment of internet action.
Bruno Mattei directed the hardcore sequences as a first time director, these last 20min I think.

Wish the directors cut DVD included the scenes for the tv version and the XXX hardcore scenes from the French version in a super complete version.
I bought the French version DVD and was disapointed that it wasn't in English, it only had French Audio with English Subtitles. But at least it contained the hardcore XXX footage not in the director's cut DVD.
Late to the party but I'll answer this for anyone else that comes along.
I have both versions (director's cut and French XXX). If you're after this for skin flick sex only, get the French version. If you're after this for a film, get the director's cut. The DC is a far, far better movie that was bastardised by having random XXX scenes added. The porn sections (which they are) are entirely close up 1969 genitals. There is nothing there (IMO) worth your time unless you're specifically after porn.
Those hardcore scenes were shot several years after 1969.
