Female lead in Then Came Bronson

Was it not the woman that Robert Blake has bee accused of murdering?

reply

I really doubt it.
Bonnie Lee Bakley was born June 1956 and "Then Came Bronson" aired in the fall of '69 when she was only 13 years old.

Maybe you thought this because of superficial similarities between Parks and Blake. It's hard to think of one and not the other. Two TV tough guys from long ago who also did lots of movies. And neither ever achieved stardom.

Yes, I have the Then Came Bronson series, www.mikeandvicki.com I have them all.

The female lead in the pilot was Bonnie Bedilia. She's had a long career. The woman Robert Blake was accused of killing was never an actress.

I was a HUGE fan of this series and both Parks and Bedelia. This show was so subtle and very sexy, I felt. Parks was a James Dean-like figure, and a fabulous actor - I had often wondered why he didn't hit it really big as a leading man. Any ideas?

He was hot at the time so it was a surprise that Parks's career didn't take off. I remember the TV Guide interview where he said he was a suppoter of George Wallace. Hollywood was predominantly liberal and I always wondered if that hurt his career.

I watched the show too in 69, I really liked it. He was supposed to be the next James Dean, who can meet that expectation.

Take a look at Parks Work history on IMDB, he hasn't stopped working since 1960 and I wouldn't recognize him if he stood in my hallway. So he has a solid TV career in solo roles.

The female lead in the pilot movie was (and still is) Bonnie Bedelia. It was she and Michael Parks who sang the haunting song Poor Wayfaring Stranger added to the soundtrack before airing. The script actually called for them to sing Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man. Fortunately it was changed.

I love Then Came Bronson just like you do.

First go to www.mikeandvicki.com for my TCB Tribute episode listing, with pictures from each episode.

I have all the 26 episodes (color) on DVD-R and the TV Pilot 1:38 Min. in B&W. The movie and all episodes are commercial free. I have recorded off TV, and collected them the last 15 years. I have placed them on my computer hard drive. It is a great show, and will make you cry, I bought my first bike in 1970 because of the TV series. I can burn in any order you want, or 1,2,3 etc.

Why don't you do some research before making a REDICULOUS post like this? Bonnie Bedelia is an alive and still working actress as of 2010! IDIOT!

Easy, beavo, as a Tennessee buddy of mine used to say, "don't git yer bowels in an uproar." Keep it civil. Oh, and if you're going to shout it, at least please learn to spell "ridiculous." thank you kindly.

I always thought Michael Parks was more of a James Dean knockoff, and that's why he didn't ever really make it. I mean, think of Marilyn Monroe, then Jayne Mansfield, who at least had something resembling a career. Then think of Anna Nicole Smith, whose main contribution to American culture was to make herself into a one-liner.
