Bob and Linda

I never knew if they were supposed to be a couple or just really close friends between seasons 3 and 34.

reply

I don't think they were originally a couple. It wasn't until 1977 when Linda was added as a regular that they became a couple. Since David had Maria and Gordon was married to Susan, they figured Bob and Linda would be a good pair. And they sure were. I heard they even asked Bob McGrath once, in the early 90's, if he wanted to get married on the show to Linda like Maria and Luis did. But he passed up the offer. Not sure why though. Would have made a good recurring storyline for a season.

reply

It would ahve been intersting since Linda was deaf so she and Bob would have been a couple wit one regular person and one with a disability.

reply

Would they have had a baby too? Also, it was strange that Olivia never had a boyfriedn.

reply

How would we know since it never happened and who cares if Olivia had a boyfriend or even married?

reply

Lesbian propoganda like everything else on PBS.

reply

It was interesting how so many of the characters were paired off. They never gave Mr Hooper a woman when he was living.

reply

So what?

And how do you know he might have been married and they didn't explore his personal life.

reply

How would Linda and Bob's courtship and marriage have been handled differently than Luis' and Maria's? Also, what if they had a baby?

reply

Linda and Bob are not on anymore? Awww, she taught so many kids and I always thought Bob was Mr. Rogers son lmao!!!

WEll in that case I apologize.

Sorry I see so many here and other parts of the IMDB boards probably just to draw attention to themselves,I thought that.

All good ;) Just as a toddler thing, the sweaters and sweet demeanor made me think that!

That's cute, that you thought Bob was Mister Rogers' son! I can totally see why you thought that! I loved Mister Rogers as a kid, and Bob was my favorite human on Sesame Street.

I watch this with my baby now & then b/c she likes it. Bob was on today and looked really old...I can't stand the young people they have on there - I don't even know their names but they suck & they can't sing. Maybe the young man is supposed to be related to Gordon? Idk; I like Gordon, but I don't like this young man at all.

Buy Old School Sesame Street on dvd!!!! They have 1969-1975 or something and 1976-1986. I have the first one!

I miss all the old human characters. Now the only original person left on Sesame Street is Gordon (I admit I haven't watch this in years because of all the changes they made and all the characters they got rid of).

Duh! while some are gone some of the others are still on!

reply

I wonder hwo many episodes Bob will be in in season 42, since I heard he is now 79 years old.

reply

I really thought they'd hook them up eventually.

reply

I wonder if they had gotten married on the show if Bob and Linda would have had a baby like Maria and Luis did?
