Scariest episode?

For me, it's "A Clue for Scooby-Doo". Man, was that diver creepy!

The one with the mummy seriously freaked me out as a kid.

The Kooky Space Kook, no doubt! It's still my favorite too!

Well I'm a victim of circumstance!
I thought you call it your pecker?

reply

The disc demon and vampire episodes.

The Spooky Space Kook is definitely mine!! The laugh always freaked me out!!

Hmmm I think What a Night for a Knight was pretty creepy at the start. Some of the episodes were quite sinister but I can't think of any that were in particular more scary than the others and I know all the episodes back to front. Harum Scarum Sanitarium has quite a creepy plot/location, if we're not just walking about the Where Are You? episodes.

To be honest, I take back my laudatory words for the disc demon episode. I saw it again recently for the first time in many moons and it was ridiculous - pure camp.

I'd put the High Raise Hair Raiser and What The Hex Is Going On way up there on the creepy list.

reply

Yeah it definately is very camp haha...I can't think to be honest..any episode where death is talked about is pretty sinister.

Miner 49er, What The Hex Going On, the Mummy (thanks, Jonny Quest!), Night of Fright is No Delight (hated those boogars!!)

Creeper, Hyde, and even the clown, perhaps the most talkative ghost they had, creeped me out a bit.

Funky Phantom would actually rip off the gargoyle from the Jonny Quest episode. I am really surprised the little gargoyle thing didn't turn up in Scooby Doo as well.

There was no specific episode that scared me it was the 2nd opening theme that scared me.

A Night of Fright is No Delight.

The scene where Scooby is taking a bath and the tub slides down to the basement still freaks me out.

Scooby looked like he was about to have a heart attack when the ghosts come toward him. It's the most scared I ever saw him. I felt so bad for him, esp when no one believed him. They never did explain why a tub bolted to the floor could move that way.

For me,it's Which Witch is Which? & Foul Play in Funland. That red-eyed zombie & that robot freaked me out.

reply

Foul Play in Funland is creepy. If an ameusment park just turned on like that you wouldnt see my lined up too it.

Don't know the title, and I can only assume it's from the classic series, but I always thought the episode which was something of a takeoff on "And Then There Were None" was really scary (well, as a kid at least!). It was the one where people kept disappearing from an isolated mansion. Really, really scared me!

reply

Omg, that episode freaked me out as well. Those green ghosts coming towards the screen, chain rattling and laughing like monsters. That was a real creepy episode.

reply

It's "A Clue for Scooby Doo" for me as well. The ghost of Captain Cutler sure was creepy, and the music was even more so. Though the one with the mummy gave me the creeps too, then again ever since seeing the Mummy(which terrified me as a kid) I have been scared a bit by anything to do with Egyptology.

Either The Kooky Space Kook or A Night for Knight, both give me creeps, even as an adult.

reply

A Night of Fright is No Delight for me, when I was a kid, and I saw those ghosts coming out of that clock, I was scared stiff. Also The Creepy Heap From the Deep, I always hid under the covers when that one came on.

reply

The gang's guest appearance on Dynomutt's Dr.Jeckyll take off, when I was a kid. Even as an adult I was impressed with Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, perhaps the only episode to actually show the deaths of the people who became the very real ghosts. As a kid i thought Captain Cutler looked dumb, but his cameo rising out of the deep really impressed me in Scooby Doo 2;Monsters Unleashed.

reply

The episode "What the Hex Going On?" used to creep me out when I was a kid. I found it freaky the way Uncle Stuart got really old and then became a skeleton.

Definitely the puppet master episode and A Night of Fright is No Delight. Those were perfectly creepy.

reply

Miner 49er for me!
And the one with the Headless Horseman!

They seriously creeped me out when i was a kid!

reply

For me it was "The Creepy Heap From The Deep" because of when the gang returns and find that sea captain supposedly soul-less, and then Shagy and Scooby stay with him and then he gets up and goes after them...that freaked me out!

My favorite episodes though were "Nowhere To Hyde", "Jeepers! It's The Creeper", "A Tiki Scare Is No Fair", and "The Spooky Space Kook".

"Which Witch Is Which?" was pretty scary too. Very atmospheric.

"The Case Of The No-Faced Zombie" was a classic and so was the Mamba Wamba episode.

Sincerely,
Exchronos

I would have to say "A Hassle in the Castle". That episode still creeps me out to this day. The ghost's creepy laugh, and chasing after everyone, the episode seemed pretty dark.
