Why is the series listed under the US title My Partner The Ghost.
It is called Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased), there was no change of name, My Partner The Ghost is simply the title known in the US.
Listing the series in its US title is very misleading and it should be refer to as Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) and nothing else.
It's a rubbish name anyway, isn't it? It makes it sound like some wacky sitcom like Mr Ed, Green Acres or...My Mother The Car.
Absolutely.However I think the British tradition of using the word deceased in a business name was not widely known in the USA hence the naff new title.
shareI agree ... it sounds like a 60s - type of sitcom. I watched this show in the early 70s on U.S. television, and as a 9 year old child, I would have known what "deceased" meant!

Me too (I was about 12 when I was watching it). I didn't quite understand the format of the title, with the brackets/parentheses, but it's explained in the titles where you see the firm's sign - "Randall and Hopkirk" with the word "(Deceased)" applied.
Now if I can just find the second grouping of episodes...A & E only released the first 13 to U.S. dvd.

Just noticed that the page for the show on this site has reverted back to its true title and that is very sensible.
shareThe main page has the US title now. This is a total disgrace. It's a UK made show not a US made show. I don't know who in IMDB has made this decision but it is appalling.
shareAppalling it may be...but If you're a diehard fan as I am (along with many others here in the UK) then IMDb's choice of title matters not. It could be called "My Mate's Got Maggots!" and I'd STILL be a fan! :-)
