Ghost

I've just watched the movie Ghost, it's a total rip off of R&HD!

I would not agree. The Ghost and Mrs Muir worked on the theme of a ghost that could be seen by one living person. Quantum Leap too where Scott Bakula is the only one who could see Dean Stockwell, although the character of Dean Stockwell was a hologram traveling in time to follow Scott Bakula.

As I recall my Shakespeare, Hamlet was the only one who could see the tormented ghost of his father.

I don’t see the rip off… I see the story for itself and the message it conveys. Frankly,. I loved the movie Ghost… it was moving and funny and tragic.

Randal and Hopkirk is fun.

Back in the 80's a TV pilot aired titled Landon, Landon & Landon. It was about a detective played by William Windom who is murdered and can only be seen by his children. The three team up to solve his murder (sound familiar?) There is also his girl friend/secretary who although can't see him, knows he's a ghost. He also has a sort of rule book for ghosts that he carries. One of the rules is that only family members are allowed to see him.

When I watched this I had no doubt that it was inspired by Randall & Hopkirk - Deceased. I even looked for Dennis Spooner's name for a "based upon" type credit, but it wasn't there.
